Rooted in science and medicine, acupuncture is an ancient healing art that has prevented and treated illness for over 3000 years. Your body is comprised of a network of complex energy pathways called meridians. Qi is the energy that travels along these meridian pathways. All living things including plants, animals water and air have qi. Acupuncture balances qi by activating the points located along the meridians. Maintaining the smooth flow of qi throughout your body is essential not only for treating pain and illness but also for improving your total well-being.
Many of my patients haven’t had acupuncture before, and I empathize with patients who have a fear of needles. I use a gentle technique to allow your body to adjust to the needles before balancing your qi. During your treatment session I incorporate non-needle modalities including fire cupping, tuning forks and massage therapy to enhance the acupuncture treatment so you leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
Acupuncture Integrated Therapy
Acupuncture works well for treating problems such as injuries, pain, indigestion, headaches, stress, anxiety and insomnia; it’s also a great way to maintain your well being and prevent health problems. Acupuncture can even help you stave off a cold or speed your recovery from one.
Each session includes evaluation and treatment. Treatment may include fire cupping, moxabustion, tuning forks, tui na, or massage therapy as appropriate. A typical course of treatment is 10 sessions, administered once or twice a week for most health conditions. Please allow 75-90 minutes for your initial exam and treatment and 45-60 minutes for your follow up treatments.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Used as early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD), Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of the aging process and renewing your body from within. This specialized treatment nourishes your qi and makes your face more glowing and peaceful. More than just a cosmetic procedure, the rejuvenation process helps your whole body look and feel better. A gentle, soothing facial massage follows the treatment. For more information please see: What is Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?
Each session includes evaluation, treatment, plus soothing massage of face. For optimum results, treatments are administrated twice weekly for a course of 10-12 treatments. Please allow 75 minutes for your treatments.
Massage therapy is an important part of an overall wellness program. This ancient healing art releases muscular tension and allows your body to move more freely and has proven physical and emotional benefits. Therapeutic massage counters the destructive effects of stress while nourishing the skin, nerves and muscle tissue with greater circulation. Once considered a luxury, massage therapy has become a necessity for people trying to cope with fast-paced lives and maintain health and well-being.
Includes therapeutic combination of relaxation, myofascial release, deep tissue, tui na and acupressure techniques using organic gels, oils and essences. 60 and 90 minute sessions available.
Fire Cupping is an ancient therapy that has immediate health benefits. The healing effect is both energetic and physical. Using a negative pressure vacuum, specially designed glass cups are placed on acupuncture points along the back which correspond to the organ systems. This procedure is a powerful method to pull out toxins in your body.
Cupping promotes the circulation of qi, blood and interstitial fluids in your muscle and skin tissues. Circulating your qi is essential in maintaining your health and well-being. Cupping also loosens up your tight, sore muscles and fascia surrounding the muscle fibers which increases the range of motion and flexibility of the area.
